The assembly point of the seat to the backrest is the main design feature, highlighted instead of being hidden.
The ash seat and backrest are anchored to each other by a thin metal bar which combined with the thin wooden legs, grant the Novel a sense of lightness. 
The chair is completely flat-packed and can be assembled quickly; the legs are assembled by screwing to place manually, and the backseat requires simple screws.
